About this Quiz

The outer space of our solar system is a vast and fascinating area that extends beyond the planets and includes the Kuiper belt, Oort cloud, and interstellar space. The Kuiper belt is a region of the solar system beyond the planets, extending from the orbit of Neptune. It is populated by a multitude of small bodies, including the dwarf planet Pluto. The Oort cloud is a theoretical cloud of predominantly icy planetesimals believed to surround the sun at a distance of up to a light-year. Interstellar space is the physical space within a galaxy beyond the influence of any star's gravity. The exploration of these regions has been made possible by various space probes, including the Voyager 1, the farthest human-made object from Earth. This spacecraft has provided the first direct measurements of interstellar plasma, the termination shock, the heliosheath, and the heliopause. The heliopause is the boundary where the sun's solar wind is stopped by the interstellar medium, marking the beginning of interstellar space. The understanding of these regions is crucial to our comprehension of the solar system and the universe beyond.
